About Rainbow City Performing Arts
We are an organization of performance ensembles creating a diverse and inclusive environment for musical expression that promotes the equity and visibility of people in the LGBTQIA+ community. We have more than 100 musicians and members in our organization. We are comprised of several ensembles: concert band, swing band, marching band/pep band and color guard, as well as including small ensemble quartets and quintets. Our membership and ensembles continue to grow! As we continue to grow, we are expanding our leadership so that as an organization we can provide long-term artistic and ensemble support, long-term financial sustainability, and long-term business growth.. Our goals include promoting the visibility and acceptance of the LGBTQIA+ community within the Seattle, Puget Sound, and Pacific Northwest areas; providing a welcoming, safe, and accepting environment for musicians in the LGBTQIA+ community to participate in Seattle's rich music scene while expressing themselves openly and honestly; to develop long-term partnerships with other LGBTQIA+ organizations; to strengthen individual and ensemble performing skills and talent; and have fun doing it all.
