About RAM Medical Innovations
RAM Medical’s internationally patented MY Sheaths, for accessing challenging vascular anatomy, allows interventionalists (whether novice or expert) unparalleled navigability and stability for peripheral endovascular and neurovascular interventions. Problem: Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) affects >230 million adults worldwide* resulting in an estimated 22.2M procedures annually with 20% of lower extremity and 25% of neurovascular interventions (total 4.4 M) having challenging anatomy, especially in elderly and obese patients. Challenging anatomy, during endovascular procedures, can impair effcient access, cause delays and poor outcomes; even in expert hands. Failure or delay of endovascular treatment, in cases of stroke and lower extremity peripheral arterial disease, can cause catastrophic outcomes like major disability from stroke, amputation, or death and signifcantly increases hospital expenses. Solution: The MY Sheath has a proprietary “side-wire” that provides pull-ability, drastically improving navigability through tortuous anatomy, and is unlike any current sheath on the market. The “side-wire” can also be locked/anchored in place allowing unparalleled sheath stability. The MY Sheath is available in two versions, P-MY Sheath for peripheral endovascular and N-MY Sheath neurovascular applications enabling faster and safer access in cases of difficult anatomy allowing clinicians the ability to reduce surgical costs, improve outcomes, and most importantly, holds the promise to save limbs and lives. Milestones: P-MY Sheath FDA 510(k) cleared Q2-2019 KOLs: Mehdi Shishehbor, MD and James Benenati, MD), each acting as course directors in their own international conferences (CVI and ISET, respectively) signed on in 2018. Silicon Valley Band of Angels Investor Recipient (Q2-2018) NIH SBIR Grant ($1.7M, Q3-2021) Sponsored by NIH SEED to Showcase at the AdvaMed MedTech Conference (Q3-2022) 15 Patents: 10 USPTO, 3 European, and 2 Chinese
