Too many people die before their time due to sudden cardiac arrest. We are here to change that. Sudden cardiac arrest kills 7-9 million people every year. The survival rate is less than one per cent. This is because cardiac arrest kills quickly. For every minute without treatment, chances of resuscitation decrease 10 per cent. Most of these deaths are preventable. We could prevent them, if people experiencing cardiac arrest were treated in time. To survive, a sudden cardiac arrest patient needs CPR and defibrillation within minutes. Defibrillation requires an AED, or automated external defibrillator. 80% of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen in the home. But AEDs are too expensive, and too hard to use, to be an option for households. We have solved these problems. Rapid Response Revival has developed CellAED, the world’s first personal AED. Thanks to its proprietary Snap, Peel, Stick design, CellAED can be deployed in seconds. Critically, CellAED is up to one-tenth of the price of existing AEDs.
