Repurposing buildings, building complexes and neighbourhoods are the daily reality.After the loss of their original function, valuable urban volumes are given a new life in close consultation with clients and governments. Rappange & Partners Architects sees it as its task to advise clients in this problem and to work in a historically and economically responsible manner. In doing so, an attempt is made to strengthen the architectural qualities of the building. The main focus of our field of activity is in the Randstad, but assignments elsewhere in the country are no exception. The firm also has experience in entering into international partnerships with foreign (interior) architects such as Steven Holl Architects from New York, the Parisian interior architect Jaques Garcia and Bentel & Bentel architecture/planning/design ltd from New York. The working area of the office includes: renovation, restoration and repurposing of hotels, cinemas, banks, restaurants/cafés, offices, publishing houses, theatres, churches, country estates, castles, housing and apartments, residential complexes, farms, cultural institutions and universities, but also combination projects with new construction and various new construction projects. In addition, the agency carries out extensive feasibility studies. Our working method is based on the following principles: - Strive to preserve architectural and cultural-historical values. - Prevent capital destruction by reusing buildings in good structural condition as much as possible. - Dealing with the built environment in a sustainable way by giving existing buildings a new function, meaning and use. - Have an open dialogue with the client and user. - Integrate new buildings into an existing cultural-historical context.
