In these fragmented times, what will it take for kinship and reconnection to be practised and embodied? What are the stories, explorations, practices and intersections of regeneration, liberation, justice, and kinship calling for us? These – and more – are the living questions for which raqsadnū:studios exists to explore. welcome 🤍 raqsadnū:studios holds within it different streams, right now taking in: ∙ raqsadnū:writing: exploratory and creative research, writing, and poetry ∙ raqsadnū:circles: hosted writing and discussion circles for shared explorations of different themes ∙ raqsadnū:collaborations: collaborations and collaborative projects in time, raqsadnū:studios will also hopefully see the emergence of raqsadnū:conversations (recorded conversations learning from and with others) and raqsadnū:explorations (collaborative research enquiries). but why raqsadnū? raqsadnū itself as a name is a marrying of the Farsi for 'dance' (رقص - 'raks') and the Hebrew for 'we danced' (רקדנו - 'rah-KAD-noo'), an intergenerational blending of my – shimrit hamadani janes – maternal lineage. within and across the realms of work, community, relationships, ecological and social crises, digital technologies, and all the many interconnected collapses and regrowth of our times, the questions come thick and fast. and so, raqsadnū:studios is a holding out of the hand in the dark. an invitation for us to dance into the shadows as well as the light, in the cracks between worlds, as we explore, discover and live those questions. and to see if we can come through the other side. together. if you're interested in finding out more, just fancy a chat, or have an opportunity or collaboration you'd like to explore together, then drop me a DM. and we can take it from there :)
