Aveníu Brands is a privately held sales and marketing company specializing in the importation, distribution and marketing of fine wines and spirits. We are a wholly owned subsidiary of Grupo Codorníu, a Barcelona, Spain-based global producer of wines, and the world’s largest producer of the Spanish sparkling wine known as “Cava.” In addition to its Cava business Codorníu owns 11 wineries around the world, including the widely acclaimed Artesa winery in Napa Valley, California and the Bodega Septima winery in Mendoza, Argentina. Codorníu is one of the oldest family companies in business today, founded in 1551 and currently run by one of the 17th-generation family members. Codorníu purchased the U.S. importer “A.V. Imports, Inc.” in October 2007. A.V. Imports’ name was immediately changed to A.V. Brands, Inc., and in July 2009, as part of its further re-positioning, the corporate name was once again changed to its current version, “Aveníu Brands”. Our new name, Aveníu Brands, symbolizes for us our deep heritage as a Codorníu company, our uncompromising commitment to our trade partners and the American consumer, and our mission to deal in only the finest and most authentic wines and spirits, products that truly reflect their place of origin.
