RE-SPORT is a start-up, spin-off of University of Bologna, that develops innovative recycling technologies for the recycle of sport equipment and everyday life goods made of plastic or composite materials. RE-SPORT develops all the steps of the recycling process of end-of-life multi-materials products, starting from the proof-of-concept of the defined approach to the design of the industrial plant, taking into consideration the environmental impact and the economic aspects of the process. RE-SPORT works in all the following topics related to the recycle and to the development of new sport equipment: - Recycle of end-of-life multi-material products (e.g. helmets) with a patented process that uses natural solvents. - Complete development of recycling processes starting from the proof-of-concept to the design of the layout of the industrial plant, combined with feasibility studies that take into account the industrial, economic and sustainability impacts. - Support to sport equipment producers that want to recycle their production scraps and end-of-life equipment and want to use recycled and bio-based materials to decrease the environmental impact of new products. - Development of new sport equipment using a Design for Recycling approach for the production of new equipment that are more easily recycled and their end-of-life. - Design optimization of new equipment using FEM analysis and DIC technique. - Technology transfer between sport equipment producers, materials producers and recycling companies.
