About Reach Out and Read Kansas City

Reach Out and Read Kansas City, is an evidence-based nonprofit, that partners with medical providers throughout KC to promote early literacy and school readiness in pediatric exam rooms by giving new books to children and advice to parents about the importance of reading aloud. By training medical providers to distribute developmentally appropriate books to young children from birth to 5 years old and sharing guidance for engagement with families at well-child visits, Reach Out and Read Kansas City is directly impacting childhood brain development through promoting reading aloud and early learning.
