About REACH - Regina Education and Action on Community Hunger

In March 1990, the Regina City Council received a report containing recommendations from a Mayor’s board of inquiry focused on addressing hunger in Regina. One of the suggestions was to offer initial funding to an organization that could address child hunger gaps left by other organizations. As a result, Regina Education and Action on Child Hunger was established. Since then, REACH has expanded our mission to focus on food security. We now offer several programs to address this: Good Food Box – Low-cost fruits and vegetables available to everyone. Family Basket – A low-cost healthy food subscription for those on social assistance. Frozen Meals – Nutritious single serve meals available to everyone. Mobile Stores – Pop-up markets held weekly at several locations in Regina. Food education – Classes and programs to help people of all ages learn more about preparing healthy meals for their families and themselves. Child nutrition - Funding provided to a variety of organizations that provide snacks and meals to children in Regina.
