Read Better Be Better's mission is to connect young readers and youth leaders to inspire a love of literacy and leadership. We create change by: Improving concentration Encouraging an active enjoyment of reading Helping develop a deeper understanding of what is being read Vision: Read Better Be Better envisions a world in which empowered communities demand equitable access to foundational skills. Imagine a world in where empowered communities have the confidence and skills to demand equity. Literacy is the key to making this a reality. When people read, they learn about who they are, where they come from, and the world around them- laying down strong roots that support lifelong growth and community change. But when reading isn't accessible, learning isn't either- limiting students' ability to grow and lead. This challenge is especially present in underfunded schools, where students face barriers like not enough books and resources, overcrowded classrooms, and fewer opportunities for mentorship. Read Better Be Better is ensuring that all youth in Arizona have the skills to read and lead. Through our programs, young readers gain literacy skills, older students step into mentorship roles, and high schoolers explore pathways to teaching and civic leadership. Readers become leaders, and leaders become changemakers.
