About Reading Reimagined
We’re [Reading Reimagined](https://www.aerdf.org/programs/reading-reimagined/) – a fully funded R&D team of former educators, K-12 systems leaders, product developers, and literacy curriculum experts who are committed to end illiteracy in America, centering the experiences of Black, Latino, and Native students and students experiencing in poverty. Currently, only one-third of American children demonstrate proficiency in reading. This is why we’re building individualized, evidence-based, identity-affirming, and engaging digital products that students love and that rapidly moves them through foundational reading skills to reading fluency. Our inclusive R&D initiative seeks to answer major questions in literacy learning. We then build digital instructional experiences that incorporate new and existing research while leveraging students' uniquenesses and maximizing the supportive role of caring adults and technology. We are part of a multi-year research and development (R&D) program under [AERDF](https://www.aerdf.org/about-us/) (The Advanced Education Research and Development Fund). AERDF supports ambitious, inclusive R&D programs designed to tackle intractable teaching and learning challenges that disproportionately affect Black and Latino students and students of all races experiencing poverty.
