About REAL Academy

The REAL Academy is a private company that specializes in the training of child protection, behavioral health, other human helper professionals, and leaders in improving the effectiveness of their agencies. REAL Academy tethers with institutions of higher learning, county level and state government. We seek to solve problems within the child protection, behavioral health and addiction systems. Our team develops custom simulation based training paired with forensic critical reasoning tools, engineered to reinforce the skills needed to keep children safe and preserve family systems. We take your training and education beyond knowledge! Our methodology supports a flexible and adaptive response strategy to real life scenarios that child protection and behavioral health professionals encounter. We build on a system of "muscle memory", grounded in classical learning theory, forensics, and safety science. The social work industry is one that is immersed in emotion, tension, and adrenaline. Sister industries such as medical, public safety, and defense, have used simulations and scenarios for ages to help students build confidence in how they would react to situations and product positive outcomes. Our approach is no different. Within our tool set we recreate real life situations using experienced actors, technology, environment creation, and logical story boards to prepare social workers for their first day on the job.
