About Rebels for Peace

Rebels for Peace is a youth-led nonprofit based on the South Side of Chicago, dedicated to breaking cycles of violence through social-emotional learning, healing, leadership, and mental wellness. Founded by Prince Jimmar and Dajohn White, two young leaders who grew up in communities most impacted by systemic inequities, we believe that those closest to the pain are also closest to the solutions. Our programs center emotional wellness, conflict de-escalation, and purpose-driven mentorship to empower youth to lead transformation in their schools and neighborhoods. Since 2021, we’ve grown from reaching 150 students to serving over 860 youth across Chicago, and we’re just getting started. Our work includes a 25-week in-school program for our Mini Rebels, serving students in grades 4 through 8, as well as an internship program for youth ages 16 to 24. We also offer specialized workshops such as Rebel Up, a leadership development experience designed for educators, professionals, and community leaders who want to learn from and engage with our youth-led model. We are building a movement where young people lead the way toward healing and systemic change, and we invite you to be a part of it.
