We now have to restore ecosystems globally to preserve a safe operating space for humanity and maintain a thriving economy. At the same time 30% of the world’s carbon emissions can be dealt with through restoration of native habitat. Rebuilding Nature envisions the creation of a Strategic Nature Network that restores and enhances dynamic ecosystems, fostering a more resilient and sustainable environment for future generations. By focusing on the restoration of natural habitats and connecting fragmented landscapes, we aim to protect biodiversity, enhance ecosystem services, and mitigate the impacts of climate change. Defragmentation of landscapes is essential not just for the free movement of species to re-animate natural processes and the integrity of ecosystems, but also for full resilience against changing climate. Our mission is to create a physical nature network that not only allows the safeguarding and movement of wildlife and plant species but also supports the well-being of society by ensuring cleaner air, water, and fertile soil, while promoting climate resilience and contributing to the long-term health of our planet.
