About Recovery Association Project

The Recovery Association Project's mission is "RAP exists to serve the interests of the recovery community." RAP's largest project is providing alcohol and drug free housing on the Oxford House model of democratically run, self-supporting housing and works in close conjunction with Oxford Houses of Oregon. RAP houses 1350 people with 200 children in 167 houses in 15 counties across the state of Oregon. RAP's budget is $5.9 million with most of the costs paid by house members. The State of Oregon provides $450,000 per year for outreach workers to open new houses and support existing houses. Tom Potter, former mayor of Portland and former Portland Chief of Police says that he thinks RAP is one of the most effective programs he has seen because it truly moves people into their future.
