Recyclage Carbone Varennes sera la première usine de production de biométhanol, de même que le plus grand producteur d’hydrogène vert au Québec. Sa mise en service est prévue à la fin 2025. Lors de sa mise en service, chaque année, c’est plus de 200 000 tonnes de matières résiduelles non recyclables et de résidus de biomasse forestière qui seront revalorisées pour produire le biométhanol. Le projet utilisera une technologie développée grâce au savoir-faire québécois, positionnant ainsi RCV comme une vitrine technologique de choix dans le déploiement de technologies vertes et innovantes. - Varennes Carbon Recycling will be the first biomethanol production plant, and largest producer of green hydrogen in Québec. The plant is expected to be operational by late 2025. Once commissioned, the plant will produce biomethanol by converting over 200,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste and residual forest biomass each year. The project will leverage technology developed using Québec expertise, showcasing VCR as an industry leader in the implementation of innovative green technologies.
