About Red Deer Food Bank Society

The Red Deer Food Bank covers an area of 20,000 square kilometres in Central Alberta. We fed 16,583 people in 2021 through our Emergency Hamper Program. Approximately 300 people per day use our open Community Pantry in addition to that. On average, 40% of our guests are children. We operate the Rotary Club of Red Deer East Community Kitchen, out of which we provide food truck services, catering services, bulk food portioning, and meals-to-go for our hamper recipients in need. We are also encouraging food security and sovereignty through educational opportunities with our new greenhouse and hydroponics operations, and live and video-recorded food prep and safety programs.
