About Red Dog Forge
My name is Shane Stainton, I'm a blacksmith and blade smith living and working in a small studio in upstate New York, just inside the Adirondack State park. I strive to continue the smithing tradition as it was found in the mid eighteenth century, a time when the smith relied on the craft in their hands and heart. All of my work is done using a coal fired forge and hammered by hand.
