About Red Earth environmental arts group
Red Earth designs, produces and creates site-specific installations and performances in the landscape, responding to local archaeology, geology and ecology, working with specialists in these fields to inform and inspire both our arresting designs and Red Earth's atmospheric performances. Red Earth is co-directed by Caitlin Easterby and Simon Pascoe, who over 20 years have established a very individual style of installation/performance that is interdisciplinary, cross-cultural, and utterly relevant, exploring our cultural heritage, our response to landscape, and the effects of environmental and climatic change. We have created work in the UK, Europe, Mongolia, Indonesia and Japan, work with international artists, and explore cross-cultural imagery and metaphor. Projects are often created in partnership with heritage organisations such as the National Trust and English Nature. Our current project is CHALK, installations, experiential walks and atmospheric performance journeys at Harting Down and Wolstonbury Hill on the SOuth Downs in west Sussex.
