Dr. Vijay Reddy, a fifth-generation farmer, settled in West Texas in the 1970s earning a PhD in plant science and soil chemistry eventually planting grapes when the Texas wine industry was just emerging. Today, he grows 38 Vitis vinifera varieties and sells his sought-after premium wine grapes to more than two dozen of the state’s wineries at each harvest. Reddy Vineyards produces small amounts of modern, stylish, hand-crafted luxury wines that reflect the culture and craft of Texas fine wine. The custom-built estate winery uses state-of-the-art equipment, traditional fermentations and French-oak barrel aging to produce wines that showcase the region’s bold fruit and refined textures to create exciting red and white blends and single varietal selections exclusively from the family’s estate vineyard.
