Reed Academy offers a YEAR ROUND highly-structured and therapeutic environment to boys with variety of educational levels and emotional, social or behavioral needs. * COVID-19 safety protocols are in place. * Reed Academy serves boys with a variety of learning levels and neurological, intellectual, developmental, and mental health diagnoses such as: • Autism Spectrum Disorders/Aspergers/PDD • Behavioral/Oppositional Defiant Disorders • Learning Challenges/Disorders. • Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorders • Mood and/or Bi-Polar Disorder, Depression • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder • Tourette’s Syndrome THERAPY - Students meet weekly with highly-qualified and experienced family clinicians individually and several times a week in group therapy. Weekly meetings with parents and guardians are strongly encouraged. MEDICATIONS - Students at Reed maintain their own doctors, however we have a registered nurse practitioner on staff as well as a consulting school physician to ensure that the medical portion of each child’s treatment plan is followed and monitored closely. ACADEMICS - Reed Academy’s academic program is based on each child’s Individual Educational Plan while also following the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and the Common Core. • Small class sizes of 4/5 students to one certified special education teacher, ensure that the behavioral and educational needs of each student are always met with care and compassion. • Our small, home-like program allows for the strengthening of adaptive daily living skills and social skill development to be constant areas of focus. • The school day is academically enriched and offers many activities such as virtual and in-person homework help, watercolor class, cooking, reading clubs, social thinking/pragmatics class, and outdoor physical activity. SUMMER/EXTENDED YEAR - Students love our therapeutic summer program as it offers all the fun and excitement of a traditional summer camp program
