About Reed & Distillery
Located in Bright, Victoria, Reed & Co Distillery was established in 2016 by hatted-chefs Rachel Reed (the ‘Reed’) and Hamish Nugent (the ‘co’). Intrigued by the use of distillation to manipulate the flavour of food, they started experimenting with botanicals they used in cooking to produce gin. Distilling then became the heart of their creative process, resulting in small-batch spirits inspired by their Alpine home and their love of Japanese fermentation traditions. The family-owned distillery operates a cellar-door tasting bar, Spirit Lab, an Izakaya-style restaurant and cocktail bar, Koji Bird. Reed & Co. is currently the first commercial Shochu producer in Australia and, in 2025, Reed & Co. was awarded 'Champion Victorian Gin' for its NEO Yuzu New World Gin - a huge accomplishment for a regional distillery.
