About Reed Family Linen
Our business dates back to 1852 and is now managed by the fifth consecutive generation of the Reed family. Early family members such as John Moorby and Peter Reed were pioneers of the English textile industry in Lancashire and their work on weaving patents and cloth constructions continues to be the cornerstone of bed linen sheeting cloths which the company produces in the 21st century. Reed Family Linen prides itself as one of the very few prestigious textile brands which has maintained its family ownership and management, unlike many of our competitors who have been taken over by Chinese and Indian conglomerates. Our company not only continues to offer our clients the best quality and value in luxury home textiles, but also delivers this with the personal service of the Reed family who continue to work in the business today. As one of the few (if not only) owner managed textile businesses who continue to control their in house beaming, weaving & stitching, the cloth constructions which Reed Family Linen offers are woven to the original recipes of previous family members. Our 400 thread count percale sheeting which was first produced by Clifford Reed in 1934 has an outstanding Cover Factor of 25.5 out of a maximum possible 28 - this delivers exceptional durability in laundering and our linens regularly achieve more than 800 boil washes in commercial laundry conditions. As a result many hoteliers use our bed linens because of their competitive "Cost per Night" index. In addition to our machine stitched bed linens, Reed Family Linen continue to offer their famous library of Madeira hand embroidered table linen designs made from 100% Cambric linen & Swiss cotton organdy. These items is now hand embroidered in Madagascar by a team of embroideresses who are continuing our traditions of Richlieu, Appliqué and Punto Bastido embroidery techniques. Reed Family Linen offer a full service of linens from a start up multi bedroom hotel to indiviual client commissions.
