About Regatta Point Community Sailing
Founded in 1960 as a non-profit corporation, Regatta Point Community Sailing has been a cornerstone of the Greater Worcester community for over six decades. Inspired by his experiences at Community Boating of Boston (CBI), our first manager, Al Fearn, established Regatta Point with the vision of bringing the joys of boating to as many adults and children as possible. His unwavering commitment to ensuring that no child was left ashore due to financial hardship laid the foundation for our enduring mission. This commitment continues today as we raise funds through our events and organizational grants to provide scholarships for children and maintain affordable access to water recreation for all. In 1998, after 38 years of service, the John F. Kennedy Boathouse was renamed the Allan E. Fearn Boathouse in honor of Al, recognizing his lifelong dedication to enriching the lives of the Worcester community. In 2000, Al retired after 40 years of service to the boating community. Today, under the leadership of Casey Duva—who has been part of Regatta Point since 2001—we remain dedicated to innovation and community engagement. With locations in Worcester and Hopkinton, we continuously update our equipment, introduce new events and perks, and enhance our services to keep our members excited and engaged. Our Offerings Include: - Sailing - Rowing Crew - Paddle Sports (Kayaking, Stand-Up Paddleboards, and Pedal Boats) At Regatta Point, we’re more than just a place to learn boating skills—we’re a community of people that fosters confidence, camaraderie, and a lifelong love for the water.
