For almost 40 years, the Regional Academies of Sport (RAS) have played a vital role in identifying, developing, and empowering emerging athletes across regional Australia. Operating primarily in New South Wales and expanding nationally, RAS delivers best practice high-performance pathway programs that bridge the gap between grassroots participation and elite sport. Collectively, the Academies provide holistic support, combining skill development, education, wellbeing, and community engagement to help regional athletes reach their full potential. Each year, RAS programs deliver an estimated $30 million economic return to the state, with a return on investment of 6:1. Our impact is not only economic, it is personal and national. Across the Paris, Tokyo, and Rio Olympic and Paralympic Games, 98 RAS alumni represented Australia in 13 sports, winning 45 medals, including 14 gold. As a unified organisation, Regional Academies of Sport Ltd serves as the parent company for eight regional academies across Australia. Together, we are expanding our reach and advocating for national investment to ensure every talented regional athlete, regardless of postcode, has access to the same opportunities for growth, performance, and success.
