About Remote Theater Project

Remote Theater Project (RTP) develops the work of artists whose voices are not often heard in the U.S. including international artists as well a U.S.- based artists from other countries. We challenge artists to engage in difficult questions about their perceptions of other groups. We believe that people can learn to understand other cultures through human scale stories that shed light on larger historical, socio-political dramas. Our productions are human-to-human exchanges and culture-to-culture dialogues intended to promote empathy, especially between groups in political conflict. RTP also develops work with teens and young adults from immigrant backgrounds, with a focus on refugees and asylum-seekers. These provide a platform for young people to share their stories.
