Renewable Energy Assurance Ltd (REAL) carries out a range of certification and consumer protection activities all of which promote renewable energy and the circular economy. REAL’s activities fall under three headings: consumer codes, certification schemes and other schemes. Consumer Codes include: Renewable Energy Consumer Code and Electric Vehicle Consumer Code for Home Chargepoints. In this way REAL strives to promote the sector and protect consumers. Certification Schemes include: Biofertiliser Certification Scheme, Green Gas Certification Scheme, Compost Certification Scheme, and Compostable Materials Certification Scheme. REAL delivers schemes, alongside partners, to ensure that a range of sector participants are complying with standards, whether EU, UK or GB-wide, relevant to the products and services they produce. Other schemes include EV Roam. The UK's EV ID Registration Organisation for Chargepoint Operators and eMobility Service Providers, to help ensure that interoperable roaming runs smoothly.
