About Reparation Generation
Our reckoning is here. The America we love became prosperous by enslaving, exploiting, and oppressing Black Americans, and repair is long overdue. More than 150 years after emancipation, structural racism continues to drive inequality and harm our society¹. Today, the Black-White wealth gap is as vast as it was in 1968², with Black Americans comprising over 13% of the U.S. population yet holding just 4% of its wealth³. Black Americans continue to face discrimination in the workplace, receive lower average wages than White Americans, and have fewer assets and savings to weather economic crises. Until our leaders enact government-issued reparations, we each have a moral imperative to do our part. Reparation Generation is a national organization providing direct reparative transfers to Black Americans for wealth-building pursuits.
