About Reporting on Addiction
We believe that by working with journalists we can improve how they report on addiction. In doing so, we can help communities extensively impacted by addiction better understand that people with substance use disorders are people and that there are too many barriers to treatment and during recovery. Our goal is to create a one-stop-shop for journalists and other media creators when they report on addiction. We are creating resource guides, a database of experts and training materials for professional and student journalists. All of these resources are designed to reduce the stigma surrounding addiction that has been unintentionally perpetuated. A passion project from 100 Days in Appalachia & Opioid Policy Institute.
