About Reserves 2050

Reserves 2050 is a grassroots organization that is privately funded, organized, and managed by Canadian citizens who desire to ensure that the service of the Citizen Soldiers, Sailors, and Aircrews are both enabled and managed responsibly. We are the primary group advocating on behalf of Canada’s Reserves to the Government of Canada without prejudice or political affiliation. Reserves 2050 seeks to work in partnership with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) chain of command and senior leadership to ensure that reserve force members are provided opportunities to serve and to advocate for their care when required. Reserves 2050 believes that a healthy and integrated Reserve Force within the CAF is vital to Canada’s defence needs. A unique element of the Reserve Force is that it is geographically dispersed across Canada in contrast to the regular force which tends to be concentrated in a few key areas within the country. As a result, elected officials at all levels across Canada often have reserve units as part of their constituency that may not be well understood. Reserves 2050 specializes in education about the primary reserves to increase the value proposition of these units and Canadians who desire to serve the country. Finally, thanks to its independent nature, Reserves 2050 can expertly act as an influence and advocate where public service and uniformed Canadians are not able to be involved. This part of the advocacy mission ensures that the “citizen” aspect of the reserves is guarded in accordance with Canadian law.
