About Responsible Business Lending Coalition
The Responsible Business Lending Coalition is a network of non-profit and for-profit lenders, investors, and small business advocates brought together by a shared commitment to innovation in the small business lending market and concerns about the rise of irresponsible small business financing. In 2015, the RBLC launched the Small Business Borrower's Bill of Rights, the first cross-sector consensus on practice standards for responsible small business financing. Since then, these standards have been endorsed by over 80 small business lenders, brokers, advocacy and civil rights groups, and small business organizations. The RBLC has grown into a movement that has changed the industry for the better, as industry participants voluntarily commit to the industry/nonprofit consensus responsible practice standards, and by passing the first small business financial protection laws of the modern era. These laws seek to establish transparent pricing standards in small business financing that empower small businesses to make informed financing decisions, and to foster innovation in the small business financing market through price disclosure, responsible practice, and healthy competition.
