About Restaurant Association of Maryland Education Foundation
The Restaurant Association of Maryland Education Foundation (RAMEF) is dedicated to enhancing Maryland's Foodservice and Hospitality Industry's training and education, career development, and community engagement efforts. RAMEF helps to improve the Maryland Foodservice and Hospitality Industry by supplying training and addressing workforce issues. We offer classes that meet the food safety and responsible alcohol service training requirements from local jurisdictions. We are a resource to the industry, helping business owners understand food safety and responsible alcohol service requirements in the state. Unlike many other states, Maryland requires a HACCP plan for every foodservice business. RAMEF provides HACCP writing services including workshops and consulting services. RAMEF is also the state administrator for the ProStart® program. ProStart® is a nationwide, two-year program for high school students that develops the best and brightest talent into tomorrow’s restaurant and foodservice industry leaders. From culinary techniques to management skills, ProStart’s industry-driven curriculum provides real-world educational opportunities and builds practical skills and a foundation that will last a lifetime. Our organization offers several scholarships to help individuals pursue higher education in the foodservice and hospitality industry. We have scholarships available for high school seniors, current college students, foodservice and hospitality educators, and current industry professionals. Find out more at www.marylandrestauarants.com/scholarships. We also partner with other organizations and nonprofits in our community, working together to deliver services and create opportunities that benefit employees and business owners in Maryland's foodservice and hospitality industry and our community at-large. If you have a project, event, or idea you want to partner with us on, please contact foundation@marylandrestaurants.com.
