About Retina Technologies
At Retina Technologies, we are developing OcuVue™*, a game changing approach to vision screening and early detection. OcuVue™ is designed from the ground up to be a fully integrated, modular digital vision medical device and platform to make comprehensive vision screening accessible and affordable. RetTech was founded by a team of medical students from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York who regularly volunteer at clinics in underserved communities and were surprised by the number of patients they encountered with undiagnosed vision loss and blindness. Upon further research, they discovered that more than 80% of these people would still have their vision with early detection and available treatments. To solve this life-altering problem, they needed to find a way to bring general practitioners and vision specialists closer together with access to affordable, yet comprehensive vision screening technology with the intelligence to assist physicians with guided referrals to specialists based on test results. Working closely with Mount Sinai Innovation Partners and New York Eye and Ear Infirmary (NYEE) of Mount Sinai, we are advancing the development of OcuVue™, a modular and scalable digital screening platform with integrated machine learning. Our mission: end needless vision loss and blindness for everyone across the globe. *OcuVue™ is based on technologies developed at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and licensed to Retina Technologies. Mount Sinai has a financial interest in Retina Technologies.
