About REVOV Batteries (Pty)
REVOV is an energy storage solutions company that sells carry-case sized lithium-iron batteries either as single units or in powerful systems of up to 200 batteries. Known for its industry-leading 1st and 2nd LiFe lithium-iron products, REVOV services wholesalers and installers to end users, providing energy backup for SA’s unstable grid, renewable energy sources and the growing demand throughout sub-Saharan Africa. Carbon conscious, agile and responsive, REVOV is run by a team that lives and breathes energy storage and superior lithium-iron power. 2nd LiFe – is the re-purposing of EV lithium batteries into stationary storage, thereby extending the useful life of these batteries by 10 or more years There comes a time in every EV’s life that the output of its battery does not justify its weight: This means that the vehicle does not accelerate as easily and may also start to lose some of it’s top-end speed. ● This usually occurs after about 1,500 to 1,800 charge and discharge cycles (around 5 to 6 years) ● As we know, the body and other ancillary systems easily last 10 years or more nowadays, so the battery in the EV gets replaced. ● But the expected life of that same battery is another 4,000 to 5000 cycles in a controlled environment ● And in a stationary storage application (storing solar, wind generated power or simply acting in a standby application when there is a power failure) this weight is far less important ● Remember, a battery removed from the vehicle is already at least 1/3 of the weight of the traditional battery technologies used for storage batteries of a similar capacity ● It's also about 25% of the size
