About RF Gill & Associates

The company started out as a family-run business set up in 1969. As structural engineers, our work consists of designs for new build work, structural designs for building alterations, and appraisals of existing buildings in London, Essex and the surrounding areas. We typically work with architects, developers, loss adjusters, contractors and surveyors as well as building owners and users. Our work ranges from small domestic alterations and extensions to large commercial schemes including multi-storey structures. Our London office engineers specialise in the design of retro-fit and new build basements to residential properties, alterations and extensions, structural appraisals and the structural design of new build residential and commercial properties. From our Essex office we specialise in insurance claims, accepting instructions directly from insurers, loss adjusters and policyholders. We will project manage building claims from cradle to grave including subsidence, heave, escape of water, fire, flood, storm and impact. We also provide structural assistance for builders and contractors, providing temporary works designs, structural steelwork connection details, and construction method statements. We also provide method statements to support planning applications when planning departments require a structural report to demonstrate the feasibility of the project.
