About RGU Motorsport

Comprised of highly motivated, mixed-disciplined individuals, RGU Motorsport is an academic society based within Robert Gordon University. With a shared passion for the intricacies of motorsport and its engineering challenges, our team was re-established to compete in the IMechE Formula Student competition for the 2024 season. Our members bring together expertise from various degree specialisms, including mechanical and electrical engineering, business management and computer science. This interdisciplinary collaboration allows us to transform academic knowledge into practical, high-performance solutions, all whilst providing our members with valuable hands-on experience that equips them for future careers within the motorsport industry and beyond. In our first year back after a short hiatus, 2024 saw the team achieve 19th place of our 37 teams in the Concept Class Formula Student competition, securing the position of the second highest-placing team within Scottish universities. This accomplishment highlights our team’s dedication and lays significant foundations to allow us to build upon our car’s performance for future years. Currently supported by the RGU School of Competing, Engineering and Technology, we are excited to continue our journey and look forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead.
