About Rhema Housing

Launched in 2001, Rhema Housing, Inc is seeking funding to address the pressing issue of homelessness in our community. According to recent data, there are approximately 10,000 individuals experiencing homelessness in our city on a given night, with a significant portion being veterans, disability individuals and seniors. This means Atlanta represents over a quarter of the state’s homeless population, highlighting the urgent need for intervention (National Alliance to End Homelessness, 2024). The lack of affordable housing options, coupled with medical conditions, trauma, abuse, economic challenges, and the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, has exacerbated these issues. Many of these individuals and families need at the very least temporary shelters to get off the streets, facing daily struggles to meet their basic needs. Human beings are not meant to live on the streets. A lack of safe and stable housing can quickly contribute to poor health outcomes, long periods of unemployment, and a shortened lifespan. Housing is a fundamental need and a basic human right, and it’s hard to imagine building a successful life without a place to call home. Our organization has a long-standing commitment to serving vulnerable populations in our community. With our expertise in providing supportive services and our strong partnerships with local agencies, we are uniquely positioned to address the root causes of homelessness and provide comprehensive support to those in need.
