About Rhode Island Accessible Forest School
The Rhode Island Accessible Forest School is a new non-profit organization. The mission of our forest school is to create educational opportunities for children using evidenced-based practices that center the needs of the most marginalized and vulnerable learners, educators, and families so all are safe to learn and grow in community. Launched in 2024, the school plans to open its forest "doors" to pre-K to grade 1 students in Fall 2025. The school is led by a team of volunteer educators, parents, social workers, and environmentalists. In the future, we plan to expand to multiple locations to support students from grades pre-K-12.
