About Rhode Island Natural History Survey
Rhode Island Natural History Survey connects people knowledgeable about Rhode Island's animals, plants, and natural systems with each other and with those who can use that knowledge for research, education, and conservation. Founded in 1994, the Survey is a member-supported, 501c3 non-profit. It is non-regulatory and non-advocacy. It encourages public participation and a scientific approach to documenting the state's animals, plants, and natural communities and solving its environmental management challenges. It does this with public events, databases, publications, and new media and with collaborative projects including the Narragansett Bay Coyote Study, Wildlife Action Plan Community Liaison, and the annual Rhode Island BioBlitz.
