About Rice's Hotel

We are a pub & restaurant situated on the main street in the quaint village of Poyntzpass. Founded in 2007 by brothers Gavin and Ronan Walsh, already both veterans in their respective trades having worked around the world in well renowned venues. Having searched for a suitable premises for their new venture the brothers found their new home in Rice's Hotel and were immediately welcomed by the local community. Ronan soon put together a stellar team in the kitchen with vast experience between them, and Gavin sourced some of the best front of house staff the locality had to offer. Our customers always tell us that it's the warm, friendly welcome and the bit of craic that tops off their experience in Rice's Hotel. We pride ourselves on a friendly atmosphere, warm efficient service, consistently good food, and the best pint of Guinness around! Our menu features both traditional and modern dishes, and daily specials alongside extensive beer, wine and cocktail menus, plus a range of non-alcoholic beverages. Situated just a few hundred yards from the Newry to Portadown towpath we are ideally situated for walkers and cyclists using this wonderful amenity. Bike storage is available to the rear of the premises on request. Our restaurant space is available to book for private party and corporate hire. Thankfully our locals and regulars keep us pretty busy so booking is highly advised. We are open for food and beverages from 12 noon Tuesday to Sunday.
