About Rice University Housing and Dining
The Rice Residential College System is a central aspect of the university experience. Nearly 78 percent of Rice’s undergraduate population lives on campus. Housing on campus is divided into 11 residential colleges, which form an integral part of student life at the university. In founding order the 11 colleges are: Baker College, Will Rice College, Hanszen College, Wiess College, Jones College, Brown College, Lovett College, Sid Richardson College, Martel College, McMurtry College and Duncan College. Housing Services at Rice University combines Undergraduate Housing, Residential Dining, Graduate Apartments and Summer Conference services in one department. Within the residential college structure, Dining Services serves the integral role of providing the student body with nutritious and appetizing food. To best fulfill this service, Dining Services combines our meal plans with the traditional ingredients of wholesome food, convenience and a friendly staff. Our talented and award winning culinary team is eager to provide a seemingly unlimited variety of food, while upholding the standards of sustainability and wellness. Requests are welcome and encouraged. Our dining policy is “all you can eat” with a reminder to make careful choices.
