Richard Gowan Consulting has the principal aim of offering high quality structural designs which make sound engineering sense. This aim is applied in everything we do, from the smallest building alteration up to the more major new build and refurbishment projects. Of highest importance to the practice is the human impact of the designs we carry out and the certainty with which they can be built on programme and on budget. Richard Gowan Consulting is able to offer a full range of services from the production of supporting ‘building regulations’ calculations for the structural engineering deign of new structural elements for a new build or extension project through to being an active member of a design team for more ‘involved’ projects. It is our firm belief that the advice we can impart early on in a project’s lifespan are of greatest benefit in helping develop a well thought through design for any project. Outside of design we are able to offer a structural appraisal service reporting on the condition of the whole or part of an existing building which has signs of a structural defect, often at the recommendation of a chartered surveyor.
