About Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives
Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives (RCRG) is a hub for volunteering and giving, working to connect Richmond residents of all ages and backgrounds with meaningful opportunities to support their community. We also operate a Child Care Resource & Referral Centre, the Richmond Christmas Fund, and a range of Seniors Community Support Services. Whether by building community capacity, or delivering innovative services, RCRG is committed to making Richmond a stronger, healthier, more inclusive community. Our website is home to Richmond’s largest volunteer opportunities database. We also offer a free, in-person Volunteer Match service. In addition to promoting and facilitating volunteerism, we specialize in information & referral, maintaining a comprehensive online Community Services Directory, and offering clients one-on-one assistance in accessing community resources. We also operate a Child Care Resource & Referral Centre, helping parents find quality child care, while training and supporting child care providers, so they can run safe, nurturing daycare programs. Since 2001, we’ve run the Richmond Christmas Fund. Each year, with support from hundreds of volunteers and donors, we brighten the holidays for more than 2,900 low- income Richmond residents, providing them with grocery vouchers, toys, books, and gift cards. Finally, we’re a major provider of Seniors Community Support Services, including grocery shopping, transportation, friendly visiting, and senior peer counselling.
