About RICOL - Language Services

ETHICAL LANGUAGE SERVICES OF THE HIGHEST STANDARD RICOL, the first cooperative of language professionals in the UK, was founded in 2012 by a group of highly qualified UK - based interpreters and translators, with support from the UK Cooperative movement. The founding members’ motivation was concern about the lowering of standards shown by some commercial agencies. It was founded with the intention to counter the economically driven devaluation and de-professionalisation of the services. All RICOL language professionals have passed professional examinations; they are fully qualified, experienced and security vetted. As a Cooperative, we strive to be an ethical and not for profit business, and to offer a high quality service delivered exclusively by professionals holding nationally or internationally recognised qualifications. Our contact personnel and all our project managers are also experienced language professionals in their own right. A RICOL member always staffs our telephone. We understand our clients’ needs. We do not need expensive office space, so more of our clients’ fees go into the service and less into overheads. Our services include: • Interpreting: face-to-face, consecutive and simultaneous for conferences, business events, international conferences and study visits • Interpreting over the telephone, and via Skype/video-link • Translation of documents, business materials, websites and localization • Proofreading, transcription of audio recordings • English language teaching, foreign language training/tuition and cultural awareness courses RICOL professional interpreters, translators and language teachers have the right skills, knowledge, ethical standards, experience and commitment to deliver the high quality services you require.
