About Ride Cincinnati
We Are Ride Cincinnati A community of riders, virtual riders and volunteers each making a commitment to defeat cancer. Ride Cincinnati is more than just a bike ride – it’s a place of hope, optimism, determination and change. We’re In This Together 100% of every rider-raised dollar goes directly toward life-saving cancer research at the University of Cincinnati’s Barrett Cancer Center. Our objective is to become the leading grassroots organization funding cancer research in Greater Cincinnati. The Barrett Cancer Center and like-minded partners are cultivating a collaborative environment focused on the causes, prevention, treatment, outcomes and survivorship of cancer. Together we aim to make Cincinnati the smartest city in the world for cancer research, education and care. A critical means to that end is a cancer care center designated by the National Cancer Institute (NCI). The game-changing NCI designation will transform our efforts and give our loved ones world-class cancer care right here at home. Ride Cincinnati is a unique experience with the purpose of funding cancer research. Ride Cincinnati dollars support clinical trials, provide seed funding for novel ideas, and enable large studies that can track and understand the health of Cincinnatians. The Ride Cincinnati Legacy Honoring their beloved wife and mother, Marlene Harris, her family founded Ride Cincinnati in 2007 to activate their passion to improve cancer research here at home. The annual cycling event brings together the community to celebrate memories and moments, moving Cincinnati to make a collective difference in fundraising and support. Over its 11 rides, Ride Cincinnati has hosted more than 10,000 participants and raised $2.8 million for cancer research at the University of Cincinnati’s Barrett Cancer Center. These dollars have funded 34 research grants that directly impact the lives of those in Cincinnati who are living with this terrible disease.
