About Rideau International Language Organization

RILO offers summer ESL learning and Canadian culture and travel opportunities to students from all over the world. RILO also offers unique boarding programs for international students throughout the year through a unique partnership with The St. Lawrence Academy, an independent primary school for students in grades K-8. Our boarding program goes well above and beyond providing meals and a place to sleep. We proudly offer: - Accommodations for a maximum of 8 students for a 10 month period (September to June) in a historic river-front property in the village of Merrickville. WiFi and hotel-like amenities included - Custodianship for each student (All non-residents under the age of 18 studying in Canada must have a Canadian Custodian) - 24/7 onsite site supervision with qualified staff in a family-like environment - Airport pick up and drop off at the start/end of academic year - Medical insurance for students - 3 meals per day prepared by onsite chef - Weekly after-school activities such as golf, skating, horse-riding, yoga and dance - Monthly weekend excursions to tourist/ historical attractions including; CN tower, Old Montreal, Ottawa parliament buildings, Parc Omega and more - After-school and weekend language support based on the Ontario Ministry of Education ESL curriculum expectations and/or in school ESL support for learners - Homework support for all students - Ongoing orientation to living in Canada which includes social customs/protocols and etiquette, while maintaining and celebrating students’ cultural backgrounds and heritage -Weekly communication with student’s natural parents via email/skype and a monthly written report sent to parents based on the student’s academic and social progress.
