Rise in Unity CIC – Strength in unity, empowering minds, building futures. Rise in Unity CIC is a Huddersfield-based community organisation dedicated to empowering young people and creating positive futures. We work in partnership with Ground Control BJJ to provide professional martial arts and self-defence that is non-aggressive and non-attacking, helping young people build confidence, resilience, and discipline in a safe space. Our current focus is developing short-term assessment programmes for young people who are NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training), excluded from mainstream education, or engaged with probation. We believe in the power of lived experience – our mentors and staff understand the real challenges young people face and can relate to their journeys. We’re not here to replicate mainstream education; we know it doesn’t work for everyone. Instead, our model creates opportunities for young people to connect, feel understood, and see that their future can be bright with the right support, guidance, and trust. At Rise in Unity, we combine education, self-development, and community values to help young people unlock their potential and move towards meaningful, sustainable futures.
