About RISE Research & Evaluation

We are a full-service research and evaluation firm working with arts & culture organizations. We collect, analyze and synthesize data, and we provide insights to elevate understanding of your work’s effect. Our clients include non-profits, schools, districts, and universities. We work directly with Executive Directors, Principals, Area Superintendents, and other organizational leaders to bring clarity and greater understanding of your impact and value. We are called RISE because we seek to elevate your practice and grow awareness of your value. Through the power of inquiry and data-driven results, we provide a grounding for you and your staff to know where to go next. Root to rise is our motto. We hold technical expertise in both qualitative and quantitative data analysis, and we work with our clients and their stakeholders to create a foundation of open dialogue and curiosity in order to receive the results without judgement and dream of new paths forward. We operate from an authentic, supportive space and promote a growth mindset. We are also highly adaptive. We design tailored assessments, and we employ a range of methodologies to match the unique needs of our clients and the people they serve. In our traditional work, we search the academic literature and recommend previously validated tools for survey-type projects, and for deeper comprehension of your impact we create observation rubrics, interview protocols, and guiding questions for focus group feedback. In our experimental work we use emergent methodologies to inquire about impact and summarize the results of your work through creative assessment techniques.
