About Rise Up Now

Rise Up Now is ontstaan vanuit de behoefte van Linda en Marije om naast het rescue center wat zij opgericht hebben en dat al jaren actief is in Kilifi, Kenia, een meer structurele oplossing te bieden. Want in een ideale wereld zou het rescue center niet nodig zijn, maar helaas zijn er jaarlijks nog teveel jonge kinderen die opvang nodig hebben. Met het programma van Rise Up Now willen wij kinderen eerder in hun jonge leven benaderen om zo mogelijke problemen vroegtijdig aan te pakken. Rise Up Now biedt de lagere schoolkinderen in Kenia een actief programma vol uitdaging en plezier. We leren elk kind spelenderwijs het zelfvertrouwen te versterken en sociale vaardigheden te ontwikkelen waardoor zij veerkrachtig hun toekomst tegemoet gaan. Zo zijn we een lichtpuntje in het leven van deze kinderen. Ons programma is ontwikkeld in samenwerking met Bikkels.nl, een begrip in Nederland als het gaat om mentale weerbaarheidstrainingen voor kinderen.
