Smith River Community Bank, N. A. was launched in 1999 by a group of local folks who remembered — and wanted again — what banking used to be — locally owned, community-based, hometown banking among friends and neighbors. That vision, that desire to treat people like people, has met with wonderful success. On January 1, 2008, we changed our name to River Community Bank, N.A. in recognition of the larger geographic area encompassed by the communities we serve. River Community, headquartered in Martinsville, is a totally independent community bank operating retail banking offices in Stuart, Stanleytown, Martinsville, and Drakes Branch, Virginia, and mortgage production offices in Greensboro, Cary, Kernersville, Raleigh, Whiteville, Wilmington, and Eden, North Carolina as well as Martinsville, VA. We believe exceptional products, the highest standards of service, and and dedicated employees who live and work in our communities continue to make all the difference. RCBNA is a national bank with a heavy focus on responsible mortgage lending in North Carolina and many other states in the South East. With in-house underwriting, closing, funding, and the ability to deliver to mulitple large banks in the mortgage market via correspondent wholesale channels, RCBNA offers a reliable and competitive solution even in a turbulent lending environment. Effective December 9, 2016, River Community Bank, NA will be changing its name to Blue Ridge Bank, NA. Our market area will expand further into Virginia, including the Shenandoah Valley and Charlottesville markets. Customers will continue to receive the same excellent service they have come to know and expect. We look forward to continuing our Banking and Mortgage Relationships with each of you!
